Dr. Peter Passmore

Dr Passmore is a Reader at the School of Medicine and Dentistry, QUB, and a Consultant Physician in Care of the Elderly at Belfast City Hospital. He established the Clinic for Memory Disorders at Belfast City Hospital in 1994, and combines clinical and molecular approaches to investigating AD and other forms of dementia, as well as running an active clinical trial programme.  Dr Passmore’s present studies incorporate the study of b-secretase activity, weight loss in dementia, executive function in AD and vascular dementia, dementia after stroke and neuropsychiatric symptoms of dementia, as well as an emerging interest in the use of cognitive prosthetics in dementia.  He collaborates with Drs. Craig, Johnston and Irvine at QUB.
